My verizon bill has had extra charges on it from USBI who has been fraudulently billing me as a long distance carrier since 06. I am amazed that this is allowed to go on with no accountability.Upon contacting them I was told that I would be canceled but there was no chance of any reimbursement. I also was not given any confirmation number. I was told I would be e-mailed the request for this service which I have yet to see.
I can not comprehend how this is leagal and would love input on how to recoup the money that has been stolen from me.

1. Written by Jennifer Wilkes, on 20-11-2009 23:45 I am one pissed consumer! I recently started reviewing my Verizon bill, only to find that USBI was charging me $17.10 for the past four months for long distance service! I have unlimited everything on my phone and have no need for this service! I called Verizon first and they told me to call USBI. I called them and they said all they could do was refund me for three months! They told me it was company policy to refund three of the four months. I took the credit. Today I called, three later to get additional information, along with a refund for my fourth month! They told me that I completed an online survey and that it is how they got my information. They told me they had my e-mail address. I asked them for it and the customer service rep, said my e-mail address was baby something at yahoo.com. I'm like, wrong! When I ask her to give me an address, she tells me, she can't tell me that, because she does not know I'm who I say I am. So, I say, you don't know if I am who I say I am, but you can bill me and not know who's phone number you have! She then wanted to transfer me to the lead representative, who told me that if I wanted to file a dispute, I would have to give them my e-mail address! I think, not! You have no information... you will not get anymore! I did contact Verizon and have them put on the 3rd party block! I am and will continue to fight for my fourth month! This company should be sued in the worse way! |
2. Written by Daniel, on 19-11-2009 17:38 Found out I was getting this charge on my phone bill for 11.00 a month - since 2002 apparently! I had seen it before but didn't know it was a bogus charge until I spoke to someone at qwest today. I called USBI to cancel the service. I insisted that I had not approved it and they played a voice recording of someone approving it and supplying my personal information as "proof" it was me. (It didn't sound like me, but honestly it was a male voice responding very quietly in one word answers - "yes", "yes"). I feel violated. Lastly, the guy I talked to said that if qwest offered to credit me any money (they did - 3 months worth - but I didn't tell him that), then USBI would be sending me a direct bill for any money that qwest tried to reclaim from them!
3. Written by Michael, on 16-11-2009 22:14 We a $21.35 charge on my bill and called them. They said that my wife approved the charge (which she didn't) I then told them if we already have long distance service provided by Verizon, (which we do) then why on EARTH would we need it from them. Call your main provider Verizon, Sprint or AT&T and file a complaint with the FTC.
4. Written by Mike in NJ, on 10-11-2009 09:01 1. I called USBI and left messgage to have unauthorized charges removed from my bill (waiting for callback to confirm). 2. Immediately called Verizon which "charged back" the amount to USBI and removed the charge from my phone bill. 3. Also, requested for a "Third Party Block" to be placed on my Verizon account to prevent companies, like USBI, from being able to charge my phone bill for unauthorized services in the future. Was told this takes affect immediately. 4. Will be filing complaint with Better Business Bureau against USBI.

7. Written by Suzy B., on 19-10-2009 22:35 USBI has been charging me for 4 months. They said my son, who is 15 years old, signed up for it on the internet. They will not refund anything!
8. Written by John, on 03-08-2009 13:37 Same happened to me. I beleive this is a fraud by this usbi comapny. They said that I signed via email. I think this is one of those scams that as sson as you open/click on an email, they sign you up automatically and next you get the bills. I am planing to go to court if they do not refund me.
9. Written by Moe, on 29-12-2008 15:28 I also have the charge on my AT&T bill for $19.95 and have called USBI and keep getting put on hold. A mass email should go out to all our friends and families to get your phone company to stop third party companies. ![]()
10. Written by Tiffany, on 05-11-2008 10:18 I opened my Embarq bill today and noticed a charge from USBI for $39.95. They say I approved the charge 7 months ago. I am currently awaiting their "proof" which is supposedly a voice recording. They refuse to refund. These people need to be brought down. This is the second time this has happened. I just put a block on third party provider charges.
