Just showed up one day

went to pay my phone bill and there is an additional provider charging me for long distance service. Called the number on the bill and found out that the number belongs to USBI. So who are these people, how can they just show up on my bill? I was never informed of this by my primary phone carrier, did I get hacked? is this a scam? what's going on? Current phone provider is of little help and will "get back with you", still waiting for them to reply. Not much luck with internet phone chat, had to wait 32 minutes to hear the same thing I don't see paying for the same service twice, don't understand how the primary carrier let this happen

We received a bill today dated 2/5/18, saying we owe them a previous balance, yet it took me 3 calls to 888-409-**** and "Jennifer & another scammer" to get a breakdown of the amount they want me to pay and they claim a bill was sent last month dated 1/4/18, yet they cannot provide me with a copy of it and there is nothing on their website showing a breakdown either! I will not pay this and Monday morning this will be reported to the State of PA Attorney General, the PUC, State & Federal Politicians, Verizon and the 4 television stations (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC) for further investigation!

USBI Lied!

This company USBI called my home in December. I answered the phone, and that was my first mistake. The woman on the other end of the phone said that she was with USBI, from Peak Communications, and that Century Link was merging with USBI, and I had NO CHOICE but to complete the change over On The Phone to complete the merge just like all other Century Link customers had to Now, I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but she was VERY convincing, so I completed the phone transfer with a guy she forwarded me to over to the new company. She also said that my bill would actually be going down, so that was also a plus, but it was a lie. Century Link is NOT merging, and this USBI company flat out lied to take my long distance away from them, and they were charging me more for the service. I may not have known this had it not been that two weeks ago we tried to call relatives in California, but the recording said there was NO LONG DISTANCE CARRIER, and I had to call Century Link to fix the problem. It was then that we found out about this scam!

Unauthorized charges

These unauthorized charges have been happening for a yr now. I'm getting sick and tired of this. They charge me 9.95 each month for services i don't want and i have no need for because there is no phone to be charging. I'm using centurylink. They have been some what helpful in this matter. I've tried to get them to block usbi charges but this last time they said i have to contact usbi. Which I have done and they just tell me that i have to call century link. This is *** There needs to be a lawsuit or something to stop these people. It's a scam!!!! When i did have the phone they called it and they talked to me husband. I wasnt home but they told him that they were century link and that it was demanded that he have a long distance carrier added to what centurylink offered. My husband didn't know what to do so he just went with it. I told my husband after he told me all this that was that if it really was century link they would call my cell not the phone line and if it was so demaned that i have it they should of called me no matter what. This needs to stop not just for me but for everyone!!!!

USBI SCAM Beware!

They took advantage of a senior no permission from me the head of household. SCAM is there a class action suite yet? I don't need a long distant carrier. It was just added in. No permission here. I am so disappointed and very concerned that my information my phone number became available to this company. Beware out there check your bill! I called and they are sending a recording of the conversation that supposedly took place to sign up for this. USBI needs to be investigated is there a Class Act Action again this company? Does anyone know? To be continued........................

I don't know what legal issues are pending against them, however, I received a bill today and tried to make them produce information in regards to it and they cannot. I will be reporting it Monday morning to the State of Pennsylvania Attorney General, other state & federal politicians in my area, as well as, the 4 major television stations here! Good Luck!

And, they have a memorized excuse for doing so. I think this might be a scam too because you have to enter at least 100 words. I have never heard of such a thing. Usbi Customer Care Review

Called their HQ to cancel. Message said wait time 30-60 mins or leave phone # and someone will get back to me within 24-72 hrs. Obviously a stall tactic to hope you just give up and continue paying for their "service". What a scam. Does the FCC know about these theives?

Americatel Long distance charges

HI, I work for Americatel Long Distace customer service and we have the same issue. On the AT&T invoices(for example and if the bill is not separated) appears AT&T local charges $20.00, Americatel LD $5.00 and USBI another $5.00. Allow me to explain customers, that we do not have anything to do with USBI. When you are making the payment for your outstanding balance , you pay for your local and LD only not USBI. As I have understand, USBI is a third party company who collects unauthorized debts, any kind of debts.

Fraudulent Services Offered in California

Frontier Communications bought Verizon's business in Malibu, CA. so I contact Frontier to order BASIC phone service when I moved. But the call was routed (by Frontier?) to a bunch of crooks at USBI. The sales guy insisted that the internet + phone at $65 per month was the best deal and that phone alone was $70 per month. I said no it should be more like $20 per month. But on three separate calls they insisted that they were right. We ordered the service. Turns out that Frontier is incapable of offering internet on my street and has NEVER offered it. But they charged me to deliver a DSL modem that I never receiced. When I called to CANCEL the charges, they added insult to injury by charging me an EARLY TERMINATION fee for cancelling internet service!! Service that they could never have offered. I have made a dozen calls to Frontier/USBI, on each call they take over an hour. Each call they promise to issue credits. Each bill gets higher and higher with no credits. USBI hides behind Frontier. The bills come from Frontier. The techs come from Frontier. The phone numbers are Frontier. They seem like crooks in bed together.

Called Centurylink to cancel their service a month in advance and got a different phone and internet service. I got a bill the following month and payed it. Okay they reassured me it was the last bill. Another month passes by and I get another bill? I call and ask wtf is this bill. I already payed the final payment. Centurylink gave me the number 1-88*-481-**** because they are the third party charging me.Who the *** is this and who authorized them, stupid ***. Who do I call to complain/sue/file a report!?? Any help is appreciated. These people are scammers, and why or how is centurylink affiliated?? *** all of them.

Workplace Scam

4-25-16 I received a bill from ATT and began to review as part of my job as Bookkeeper. Our bill was about $200 more for the past 3 months. Found billing from USBI, called and they played a recording from one of my employees agreeing to this change in service. They even had said employees personal information. The recording was bogus, a complete fabrication. This company needs to be put down. They have cost my company over $700. Beware people ! IN this day and age, anyone can produce a recording and steal from you. Currently working with ATT and attempting to get credit for past charges.

WHEN THE LADY PLAYED IT FOR ME THERE WAS SO MUCH STATIC. YOU COULD HEAR A MAN ASKING QUESTIONS AND A WOMAN SAYING YES OR NO. IT WAS NOT MY VOICE. I HAVE A VERY STRONG SOUTHERN VOICE, THAT LADY DID NOT. I TOLD THE PERSON, THAT WAS NOT ME FOR I WAS NOT AT WORK THAT DAY AND SHE INSISTED THAT WAS ME.
